After reading this, I definitely do not want Alexa or anything like it!
The story starts with Nikki and Ethan house hunting - they look at 17 Church Row, which aside from being very safe, has Alice, a virtual PA. They want safe as they have lost one of their twin girls in an accident and want to protect the remaining twin as much as possible, as she is traumatised and unable to speak. They move in and there are some little glitches which shouldn't have happened, but the programmer easily irons them out. Nikki starts to bond with the virtual PA and happily uses her to help sort her life out.
Alongside this, we have another narrative running, which slowly starts to make sense as events start to escalate.
This is definitely worth reading, but it left me with a feeling of being watched!
