Catherine Ryan Howard is a brilliant author. I really enjoyed the Nothing Man, so had equally high expectations and was not disappointed.

The story is set in the early Covid days. Truly it could have been written about any urban location. The real-life rolling changes experienced as the realisation of the extent of the virus will resonate with everyone. However the secrets kept by the main characters are the real story.

I'm not going to give the plot away as that would really spoil it, but true to form the author likes to give lots of little details to take your thoughts down one path, only to swerve to another. I like the casual observations of the characters, they really add to the dry style of writing that draws me in and keeps my interest. I read this book quickly because I wanted to keep in the frame of the story, it's quite an easy read but in a good way.
