When it comes to a Christmas read I require a very specific type of book. I require a book that has likeable and believable characters. I like a book where the back story makes sense. I like a book where the setting and description of it is dreamy and festive.
This book ticked all the boxes for me. It was so whimsical but it a good way. The writing really transports you back to the time and era that this book was set. It made me nostalgic for a past that I never even knew!
I loved the characters that were in this book - I felt like I became invested in their lives. I wanted to know what was going to happen. I really genuinely loved reading this book.
It made me feel cosy, warm and festive and I honestly struggled to put the book down!
