An enchanting tale written with such tenderness and care.

This book transported me back to a different era with such elegance, grace and thoughtfulness. By the end of the novel I felt I was part of the Buckingham Hotel and longed to step back in time.

From the start to the end, I was absorbed in all the characters daily lives and the coming and goings of life at the Buckingham Hotel as well as that of London in 1938.

On many occasions I wished I could step out and glide across the ballroom and forget everything for just a moment. This tale brought a sense of magic, both as Christmas is steadily approaching on the horizon but also in these unsettling times. Just like back in 1938, where there was an uncertainty growing in the air and where lives were about to change in so many ways, this books shows that there is still space and a chance for love, hope, friendship and a feeling of belonging.

I have always enjoyed books set around the Second World War, and this one did not disappoint. I hope there will be another instalment to follow in the future and this novel will definitely stay with me for years to come.
