This is a historical romance set just before WW2 where the world was at the brink of war; from the point of view from the staff at the Buckingham Hotel. What I liked about this book was how the Author was able to touch into different problems of the time such as racism and anti-Semitic behaviour in those times and the way it affected lives. From the beginning of the book I was captured, their twist and surprises around every corner and imbedded in all of this where some real words of wisdom. This book also had a very comedic element with the mockery of the upper class.

However, this book has multiple point of views throughout the text so it can take a while to get a hang of who is who and what their role is in the book, but this shouldn’t deter you from reading it.

Overall, I gave this 3/5 stars because historical fiction isn’t something I would normally read but this was definitely worth it.
