When i first saw this book, i was definitely taken aback at how nice the cover was. i normally have a thing against people on covers but the whole festive-ness of it certainly makes up for it (oh, and the simplistic design on the back too).
I was a little hesitant when starting this, since I hadn’t read the previous books in the series, but the use of a character list at the beginning- explaining where everyone lies in the story- certainly helps quite a bit.
To be honest, i’m not usually into really in to romance novels, but this is the perfect balance of downtown abbey and those cute films you see on channel five around December time every year. The overall arching theme/ time setting (although the book starts in April time) definitely aids it quite a bit in my opinion.
Overall though, if you’re looking for a book to get you in the mood for the festive season this year (especially amongst the chaos we’ve all been through lately), then this is exactly the right book.
