Not going to lie, I had given up around the mid point. The book is very long and not particularly easy to read. It is fantastic in terms of the audience it caters to and meeting those demands. Clearly the author has a lot of knowledge about their demographic, but as someone who is not really into fantasy / whimsical / Nutcracker esque books it was really hard going on me. Not in terms of the wording or terminology, but I just didnt really connect with the book.
THat being said the cover was a perfect snapshot. The quality of the finish is incredible, but I just couldnt connect with the plot, characters or any of the themes really.
I didnt give a low star rating because I know the book would be amazing for people who are into this sort o thing, and knocking off stars because its not my cup of tea is not a fair representation of the book, or authors time.
