Akin to Yrsa Sigurðardóttir, Anne Holt has a knack for gripping the reader from the very first sentence. Holt's black humour kept me wanting to read on.

From the get go, I was hooked because of how she describes Oslo: cold, chilly, nitty and gritty, everything I want in a Nordic Noir. And the protagonist, Selma, is so horribly likeable, it was so easy to turn the pages and never stop reading. I feel like this is a book you can read in one go, almost impossible to put down.

What makes this book different is its story. Yes, many Nordic thrillers write about its popular Nordic sports, but setting this in relation to the Winter Olympics make this book stand out all the more, specifically in its context to Pyeong Chang. this story keeps the reader wanting to learn more about it.

If you love Nesbo, Sigurðardóttir, or Larsson, I know you'll love this one too.
