I am always excited to read an Anne Holt book as I have yet to be disappointed by one. This one is no exception. It started off slowly as we got to know the characters and the reasons that Selma Flack had found herself at rock bottom. One of Norway's star cross country skiers has failed a drug test and Selma is asked by her father to prove her innocence. The reader is given certain information at this point which shows that Selma really has no choice in running with this. While she is looking into this, her Godson dies, seemingly in a fall whilst out training on roller skis. It transpires later that he too would have failed a drug test despite being very anti drugs. Selma needs to establish if the two deaths are linked and hopefully put her life back on track.
