This was almost painful to read, I haven't read any other novels by Anne Holt but I'm going to be avoiding her novels from now on unfortunately. I know that it's translated so maybe a lot of things were potentially lost in translation but it was so tedious and there was so much going on that it was unreadable at times. Selma Falck, for me, is not a likable character. She's very cold and I wasn't rooting for her at all. A positive would be the Norwegian setting but the slow pacing and odd character dynamics completely outweigh any positives. I couldn't recommend this book at all I'm afraid.
