Wow!

Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow. And did I mention, wow! From the minute I picked up this book and read the blurb I just knew it was for me. Firstly, the historical type setting - set during World War One. Yes please! I'm a history PhD so as you can imagine, anything historical tickles my interests and I love a good novel set during big events like this. Really adds something to it for me. As for the novel itself, this is a fantastic ghost story. I am obsessed with Susan Hill, and The Woman in Black is an all time favourite for me - granted, nothing beats the stage play, and if you haven't seen it, stick it on your must do list!!!! - so I was excited for an eerie, ghost story, woman in black-esqe tale, and this certainly lived up! It is gripping, exciting and chilling and you will be hooked until the very last page. It really is a page turner and you won't want to put it down, I promise you that!! I highly recommend this one.
