Never heard of the series or author before but the plot intrigued me. I enjoy a good crime novel and do like to dabble in books that are set outside of my own country (UK).
You do not necessarily have had to have read previous books of the series but from reading the extract it feels it is better to have read them, as they will give better insight to the main character and why she was targeted.
