This is the third book in the Selma Falck series by Anne Holt. It has been ably translated from Norwegian by Anne Bruce and the English prose flows well.
Selma is a super athlete with remarkable mental abilities. She started out as a high powered lawyer before becoming a private investigator who catches murderers.
The novel starts with her being shot with a ricochet that killed her friend and the plot twists and turns thereafter keeping you interested in reading more. The excitement continues as there are two other intriguing murders somehow linked together but all done very differently to the others. What’s the motivation?
This is an entertaining bit of escapism ideal to while away those long cold winter evenings with your feet up and finding out eventually who did it!
