Not for publishing the book. That was OK.
But for the horrendous spelling mistake/typo on the cover! WOLRDWIDE. Really…… I know I am a bit of a pedant for uncorrected typos, poor proofreading and grammatical errors but this is the most obvious I’ve ever seen.
Right, now that I’ve got that off my chest, what about the book.
I used to be a big fan of Scandi Noir crime novels (Jo Nesbo, Camille Lackberg, Anne Holt, Hakan Nesser) but seem to have ‘grown out of them’ recently.
Selma Falck is a great flawed character, as was Hanna Wilhelmsen in the previous series. There was a lot going on in this book and it required a great deal of effort to keep hold of all the different threads - Selma’s stalker, her proximity to the shooting of her politician friend, her difficult relationship with her daughter and yearning to see her grandson, the NAV Social Security Scandal, the approaching pandemic……
Not really in the mood for such a multilayer complex story at the moment. Would prefer a straightforward humorous romcom.
