I received a pre-release hardback copy of A Memory for Murder from Readers First, a month before publication day (which is today, by the way!), and what can I say? It is one of the best books I have ever read within the crime and mystery genre.

In this exciting third part of the revered Selma Falck series, the plot only thickens in an encompassing array of twists and turns. Holt creates such a realistic atmosphere through her voice and skill, this novel is simply a masterpiece which had me hooked from beginning to end.

In terms of flaws, there are none! Without giving any spoilers, all I can say is this: you won't be able to put this book down. It's that simple. Once you read the first page of this stunning story, you'll be hooked, just as I was. This novel should come with an addiction warning, seriously! I simply could not put it down.

Everything, from the pace to the character development and defiance of traditional archetypes, is awe inspiring. Holt never once falls into the category of 'cliché' or dull, and, while action packed, A Memory for Murder maintains a mature, sophisticated atmosphere and reading experience.

This novel is one I'd recommend to anyone, whether you read daily or haven't picked up a book in years. It's just that good.
