WOuld prefer to read the whole series, but still enjoyed this as a standalone, the writing style was also very good, it was slow at the start but picked up mid way, I did drop it a few times, a lot of twist and turns with the main character involving a lot of things , gambling, stalking etc, and introduction of a few characters. It starts with main character at lunch then a shooting occurs..
And a big story speculating, who was the intended target and why, what is the motives and is the shooting of the victims linked to each other..
Even though I struggled reading it I'm a curious person so will still want need to finish the series and I also found it a bit repetitive that wasn't required or need to be in the book in my opinion. I still think a lot of people will still enjoy the book if it's a genre they love, but as mentioned the book could easily have been shorter
