This book, being based on true events, offers a deep insight into the life of Graham Young - a not so well known serial killer. I usually strictly read non-fiction novels, but this was an exception I am glad I made. Usually books are from the protagonist's point of view, so this made an interesting change. The fact he started his killings at the ripe age of thirteen years old is utterly shocking, and so is his interest in poision, as his victims find out.

This is the first book written by Carol Ann Lee that I have read, but it is clear why she was established as a best-selling true crime writer.

There is a lot of history inbeded throughout the entirity of this novel, which is set in post-war Britain. In the 1970s society was rapidly changing and evolving to accommodate for Britain's new found needs, after winning the war there was new-found spirit.
