A Passion for Poison is a chilling account of the murders committed by Graham Young in the 1960s and 70s. This book details Graham's childhood, his teenage years in Broadmoor, the veneer of normalcy after his release, his murder trial, and his life in prison after his conviction. At times the narrative is slow and repetitive, but overall this is a thrilling account into the mind of an obsessive poisoner.

This wasn't a case I was familiar with, but it was incredible to read about the numerous breakdowns in the system that led to Graham's release from Broadmoor, and the subsequent failures that allowed him to kill again unchecked. Carol Ann Lee draws comparisons to other murder cases throughout, provides expert analysis of poisoner profiles, and even includes the observations of other notable villains, such as Charles Bronson, on Graham Young himself.

The question definitely remains; was Graham Young mad or evil?
