Rory Clements writes an excellent mystery novel mixing fact with fiction and A Prince and A Spy is his latest offering involving Professor Tom Wilde. Professor Wilde is an American working at Cambridge University however he has another role with the American secret service. A Prince and A Spy is set in 1942 at the time of the aeroplane accident which killed Prince George - or was it an accident? This is only one of the many questions that arise throughout the course of this book as Professor Wilde attempts to get to the truth of the matter. As readers of earlier Rory Clements novels will expect this is a fast moving, hard to put down, read as readers, along with Professor Wilde, become caught up in the mysteries surrounding the 'plane crash and the dangerous situations he finds himself in as he attempts to work out who's friend and who's foe. The action moves between England, Scotland, Sweden and back to England with barely time to draw breath. Like the author's earlier novels this is a hugely enjoyable read which I recommend to anyone who enjoys war stories and thrillers.
