Set in WW2 during the Blitz, we find Cathy who is a happy blushing bride who has her life put on hold when the war starts with Germany. All of her youthful dreams are put on hold when her husband, who turns out to be violent towards her, become involved with a fascist movement and when he is drafted she see this as a needed respite. During these times divorce is not an option she thinks that this is the way for her to escape her life and protect her son.
