I usually pass straight over books with this sort of cover and strapline, but had a closer look. I think the opening chapters are well written and the historical detail is interesting. The story seems to be a comforting romance, with a familiar will she get her man plot, made slightly darker by the uncertainty of whether her unpleasant first husband will return from the war.
