Warning - slight spoilers mentioned!

My mother was 2yrs old when rationing completely finished, but my grandmother who was born 1931 remembers it well, along with the air raids!

However this book A Ration Book Daughter by Jean Fullerton, goes beyond rationing of food, there is a shortage of tolerance, love and respect!

This book was very difficult to read in places and yet you had to keep reading! You wanted those that were cruel to get their comeuppance and they did!

Not all the wars were fought with guns, there was many a war fought within the family homes!

A really good read, a definite 5 star read and I will be looking out for further books by this Author and similar to this theme.

This is book 5 in the ration book series and I have not read any of the previous ones but feel that this can easily be read as a stand-alone book.

The cover is also stunning, the sepia tones really make this stand out.
