I am not usually one from historical fiction novels;however, "a ration book daughter" surpassed my expectations. I was fully immersed in the story and believed it did truly capture some of the struggles faced by many mothers during Wartime.

The romance was highly emotional and had me gripped every part of me was wishing that Cathy and Archie would get their happy ending. The main charcters were written well with likeable personalities that shone throughout the book.

The plot was interesting and although it did take me a while to be fully into the book it was highly worth it. The book handles many topics such as race, single mothers and society expectations of women that were dealt with very well.

I personally think that this book is a fresh unique story in the historical fiction of genre which I highly reccomend to all those who history and romance!
