I would never normally reach for a love story, but I have to say this one really drew me in. It's well written with so much attention to detail that it feels very authentic. With it being set in such an iconic time it had to feel authentic and it did. I haven't read any of the other books in the series but I would definitely pick them up now. It was just so charming and the characters of Cathy and Archie are so likeable you couldn't help but root for them.
Not being a fan of love stories, I did find it a bit cringy at points but anyone who would normally read romantic novels probably wouldn't mind as much.
You got to read a lot about Cathy's family as well and I would have liked to see a bit more about them at the end in particular Jo as I really want to know if she and her husband managed to have a baby. I really felt for her and I would have liked to have seen that touched on again before the end.
Overall it's a great story about resilience in a tough time and finding love and making it work no matter what.
