I have read A Ration Book Wedding and really enjoyed it. I was looking forward to reading this latest book in the series, as the style of writing previously was engaging and realistic.

I did like the book, but I was a little disappointed that it didn't have a lot of substance. There was some predictability in the story, and although I wanted a happy ending for the main characters, it was a bit flat.

The characters are all very well described, and the pace of life constantly changing during war time was very evocative. There was a lot of repetition and going over the details of mealtimes, children's routines, etc became a little mundane. That said, I would still like to read the other books in the series, they are a feel-good read of hope and optimism, something that parallels some of the recent changes in our daily lives. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys this genre
