I have absolutely loved this series, and am thankful to Reader's First both for introducing me to it, and sending me a free copy of this book to read and review.
Queenie Brogan has been the matriarch at the head of the family throughout this series, and in this book we finally get to know her backstory, as well as tying up several loose ends with the other members of the family. As ways, several strands of the story run concurrently, and as always, all are really well done.
Without wanting to spoil anything, the moments at the end between Queenie and Father Machine are tear inducing, and I suggest getting your tissues ready.
Could this work as a stand alone - Yes, I think it could. Does it work best as the conclusion to a fantastic series absolutely, in my opinion yes, and I would fully recommend anyone reading the other books in this series.
