This is the latest book in the ration book series, set in east London during the Second World War it tells the story of Francesca and the Brogan family. Having returned from war injured Charlie is thrust back into Francesca’s life. But will she end up with her love once and for all? I enjoyed this book, which overall was a sweet tale of family, friendship and love during one of the countries most difficult of times. The author has clearly researched the time very well and the book really makes you feel transported back in time to the East end. I haven’t read the previous books in this series so I lacked some of the back story preceding this novel. However overall this is a sweet wartime tale I enjoyed!
