This is the 4th book in this lovely, well written series. One I'd recommmend to any fans of the genre.
It was good to catch up with the Brogan family again, with daughter Jo getting married- the wedding of the title. But that's really only the side story to the continuing love story of Francesca and Charlie. He is still married to the awful Stella, mother of his son, who has moved on from being a barfly to becoming a stripper. Into this mix comes Leo, an Italian aristocrat who tries to sweep Francesca off her feet..... just as Charlie realises what a fool he's been.
The London locations, the daily life of people in wartime, the arrival of the American GIs... it's all so authentic. I loved it.
