The first book I have read from this author, I'm now aware of a good many others I would like to read from her series. This is a real feel-good tale, with a few characters we get to know well, and lots of description from the era, war-time at home.

I love this genre and era, so evocative and descriptive of the time. There aren't too many characters to follow and keep track of, so you could read it in small chunks as I did. You do feel for the main characters and watch the ups and downs of their community. It's an easy read, not too melancholy, even when life is disturbed by the bombing.

I would recommend this book for anyone who likes a light-hearted, romantic read, with a little real-life drama thrown in.
