I love a historical drama (although this is described as the 'saga' genre - that's a new one on me!) and this book didn't disappoint.
I haven't read any novels by Jean Fullerton before, but I enjoyed her writing and would definitely look out for other titles by her. This book is part of a series and I would enjoy reading more.
This historical novel is well researched and the author has obviously enjoyed writing about this era. This comes across in her writing. The quality of the descriptions create a well constructed and believable story and the reader can easily imagine the settings and the characters - you can picture
A simple story, which is probably a common truth for many youths during war times, is written delicately and well.
I think this is to be recommended for all age groups, young and older readers alike, as an easy, but completely enjoyable novel. Thank you.
