I read this book because I was bored and it definitely did not soothe my boredom.
I mean the latest book in the series continues off the relationship between Charlie and Francesca. Francesca has been in love with Charlie for years. It is based on this war time era and goes into the fact that Charlie has only seen Francesca as a friend and he’s a married man with a son. However as the story progresses his wife is a stripper and does neglect her son. Francesca is there for him throughout and Charlie then falls in love with her. It’s that kind of unrequited love drama until the character realised that the person he’s meant to be with is right there in front of him.
It was obvious when reading the second half of the book and I really didn’t have to guess. I wish the author could make it a bit more surprising.
