This book is quirky, the concept, the characters, even the cover stands out because it is different - but it makes a nice change to read something different.

Esther is an interesting character, in that while she seems to be the normal one of her family, she herself is far from normal. You feel for her in the first couple of chapters because of this, and also because she gets pickpocketed in part due to her mother's irrational fears.

The cover is simple, but eye-catching. It's the kind of cover that never really makes sense until you read the book itself, which I like.

Overall, I am really excited to read the rest of this book!
