A satisfying YA contemporary where the reader can travel into the depths of what it is to be irrationally scared.
Semi-Definitive List of Worst Nightmares is a young adult contemporary that explores the theme of facing your fears.
Although the characters are more relatable for a young adult crowd, I feel that the prose and the dialogue could be anybody's cup of tea and shouldn't necessarily be subjected to a limitedly young audience.
The extract of the book I read seemed to be an interesting compound of quirky characters, writing full of superstition, and witty dialogue. I read 22 pages and already feel compelled to find out more about Esther as a character and her fictional world full of agoraphobia, nyctophobia, social anxiety, and all the teen angst that surrounds such complex subjects.
I found all the aspects of this book engaging and seriously cannot wait to read the entire book.
