This book has rendered me speechless. The way this book is written and worded had me hooked from the very first chapter. Esther Solar is introduced as a weird girl who wears costumes, but as the book develops we get to see more into her life and her family. She has a twin brother named Eugene and a friend named Hephzibah.
At the beginning of the book, she is pick pocketed by a boy from her childhood named Jonah. Jonah then discovers her list of things that could possibly be her biggest fear and is determined to go find 'death' to stop the curse on the Solar family.
Personally, I think this book is one of the best ones I have read this year. The way it is structured and in particular the way the characters are portrayed made me want to read on.
