This is an enjoyable YA novel, packed with engaging characters and charm.
While it tackles some major mental health issues it does so without being preachy or condescending, striking just the right note in pulling no punches whilst feeling accessible and that the author understands the YA point of view. It's for this reason I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this book to people I know in the age group it's targetted at.
Characters and situations are sympathetic, without being cloying and sugar-coated and treats it's demographic readers with respect rather than patronising, or dismissing issues that are important to them.
