What a book. I thoroughly enjoyed A Stranger on the Beach. Firstly, the cover and title are really captivating and I am one to judge books by the cover! I wish there was a 4.5/5 stars option because I was so close to a solid 5 stars.

This was a good thriller/drama. There is essentially two stories running in the views of Caroline and of Aidan. Caroline is a wealthy woman with a husband and daughter with a house on the beach but also in downtown New York. Aidan is just a local boy with a bad past. Caroline hosts a welcome party for her newly designed beach house, to which Aidan is a bartender. The party has a disastrous ending when Jason turns up late to the party... with a female! This soon becomes the gossip of the town. Aidan soon befriends Caroline as she brings herself to attend at the local bar to down her sorrows. He swears to protect her. How far will he go to protect Caroline?

At the beginning, you expect how the story is likely to pan out and the ending. But you are wrong!
I think there was a few different story-lines running that could have been expanded on, I wish i'd known more about Jason's situation. I thought at times the multiple stories confusing as I didn't understand why the book was wrote that way, but now I do! But overall, the story is a good one and the ending was a great surprise really. It definitely lends itself to the potential for a sequel.
