I have heard many great reviews for the Windsor Knot, so had high hopes for the sequel.

What I enjoy when reading either of the HM The Queen Investigates books is that you can’t help but hear the regal accent of the queen’s voice in your head as you read. Putting real-life characters into fictional situations makes for entertaining reading.
It reminded me of Roald Dahl’s The BFG where Sophie meets the Queen, it’s difficult to distinguish the Queen in the book from her actual Majesty, and there’s something wonderfully silly in the idea of a 90+ year old Head of State going around and solving crimes.

All amusing elements aside, it’s actually a very well written, well through-out plot and storyline. There’s an Agatha Christie style feel to the twists and turns of the plot which keep you guessing through it the book.

For people who enjoyed the first book, I would certainly recommend this one too.
