I started reading this book with great expectations of being entertained since I had really enjoyed the first few chapters. So much so in fact that I ordered an advance copy of the book. But sadly, I felt this book fell short of my expectations.

The writing style was light and clearly did not take itself too seriously, and rightly so too. The thought of the Queen being an amateur detective amused me. But in fact the Queen's input was more of an advisory role where she alerted others of her suspicions and did not actually do the investigating herself, which I felt was a shame. I recall a children's book where the Queen went undercover to investigate mysteries with her corgi dogs, and I had hoped that this would be a 'grown up' version of just such a story.

Also, I could not see why the front cover had a picture of what looks like Queen Victoria on it, or indeed the relevance of its title.
