The cover is very intriguing with tons of different aspects the first look is well written and engaging with a good storyline with a good plot and from the first look you can see the complex emotions and it starts of so well with her father in mortal danger it really engages the reader and introduces the characters in a way that is not daunting or makes the reader confused about the story and makes it so the reader has questions but not about basic facts and rather about the bigger picture which is a good sign of a book.
The theme of isolation is very prevalent in this book as when her father dies she is the only swan left this is great insight into the character with the short sentences at the end of the prologue giving good emotional range.
Chapter one stars of not as well but gradually gets better as we get too see how people around her interact with and speak with her with not emotional depth as they cannot possibly comprehend what is going through her mind.
Overall this book was incredible as many books don't have a good start.
