I have always utterly adored fantasy books, and, from the moment I first saw this book, I knew I had to read it! Just from the first chapter, I am hooked, and emotionally invested in the main character, Aderyn!
Not only is the world-building first class, but it is well-written and complete (in the sense that nothing is left out)!
Truly, I felt like a part of this book : I was there, standing over my dying father, in the dimly lit chamber. So immersive!
Of course, many of this kind of book can fall into a cliché, but, so far, I can see / forsee nothing!
The plot twists will be incredible, I am sure!
This book has fantasy, royalty, drama, daggers, coming if age, and a romance - not forgetting it has a sequel!
This is a universe that I believe everyone could benefit from experiencing, at least once in their lives, and I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
I will not be forgetting this one in a hurry, I assure you!
