I will admit I was skeptical at first. I choose this book based on its cover and title and when I started reading it I was dreading it after the first few pages...It seemed like your average ‘woe is me. My dad, the king, is dying. I am too young to become ruler. I want to live my own life. I’m youthful...blah blah blah’ and then BOOM everyone turned into birds and it just left me thinking there is the twist, the uniqueness I wanted to make this book stand out!! Don’t get me wrong, a lot of the plot lines are similar to many other YA novels but the bird aspect just puts that twist on it that makes you want to read on. I am counting down until the sequel, A Crown of Talons, is released!! Not long until 2021 😂
