This book contained many fairytale, historical and fantasy themes, and had a fresh and unusual world as well. The world’s ruled by humans who can shift into birds (which is a concept that i haven’t actually ever heard of before so it was a refreshing read). The world also has defined classes about those who can fly and those who can’t, and these are the nobles vs the servants.

Without spoiling the book, i can say that the actual world building was brilliant, and contained many unpredictable and unique elements to it, as well as many complex and interweaving character relationships.

The ending of the book was also phenomenal and i can’t wait to read the next book in the series. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who wants a refreshing change to fantasy books, especially if they’re tired of some of the more commonly overused tropes in fantasy (cough cough fae)
