This book is beautifully written and contains lots of twists and turns. I love the way that the story ends, although it is rather sad, it is completely unexpected and not your usual predictable romance, where you can tell insistently which characters are going to end up together. It manages to seamlessly move between eras without feeling disjointed, and maintaining the readers attention. The characters are well written with enough back story behind each one to feel like you know them and can connect with their thoughts and feelings. The setting is also well described and you can easily imagine yourself in the shoes of the characters. I would love to see a sequel to this book, although the author does a great job tieing up all loose ends, which is great is its sometimes frustrating when you feel there is no proper ending. I will definitely look for further works by this author.
