In the first 27 pages of this books, I went from confused to slightly intrigued. At first, I didn’t understand that the bold font was Adeline playing out the conversations in her head before they had even happened. At first, I wasn’t really sure if I liked the idea because I thought it would convolute the story. However, as I read on I started to actually like the idea. I like how the reader gets a sneak peak into the mind of the main character. I also find it super relatable because we all have our own anxieties and worries about how certain conversations will go before we even have them. The one thing I found a bit unrealistic was how Adeline just gave up the fact that she remembered a weirdly specific amount of information from the first time she met Jack. If I were in that situation I would purposely withhold that in fear of sounding like a stalker. That aside, I think this is a promising story.
