There's not much in her life that Eleanor, fondly nicknamed Lenny by those closest to her, can control in her life. Throughout the novel I followed the heart-wrenching tale of her father's incurable illness, her awkward encounters with unsuitable love interest Dr Ganesh, and her emotional reaction to her best friend Julian moving away. As her narrative progressed and her world started to come to an end in more ways than one, I just wanted to give Lenny a hug and tell her it would all be okay!

The chapters were cleverly designed to give the reader an understanding of the psychology behind Lenny's fears and the way she deals with life, taking me back to my inner teenage-self who thought that my world began and ended with the trials and tribulations of high school. It made me all the more empathetic to Lenny's situation, as I cannot imagine going through such trauma at such a young age.

Although All the Ways the World Can End had the potential to be quite a pessimistic take on the trauma of loss at a young age, Lenny's humour and the positive experiences she has with her dad towards the end of the novel ensured that I closed the book feeling emotional, but knowing that Lenny could face whatever life chooses to throw at her.

Definitely a 5* read!
