This is a fantastic book about a missing girl named Summer in a small town in Alabama. The plot follows the various people searching for her including her twin sister Raine. I loved this book, it is one of the best books I read in 2017. The language has a sadness running through it with so much emotion attached to it. There are funny moments peppered throughout this dark story and the friendship portrayed between certain characters is heart wrenching and affecting.
The story has dark and disturbing themes but the writing is so atmospheric and beautiful that the book never feels depressing. I grew so attached to these characters and I genuinely cared about what happened to them. I will certainly read any new books from this incredibly talented author in the future.
