To start with, the writing feels a bit clunky. I think the issue is that the writer makes the characters explain things to us that other characters in a scene already know. This also probably isn't helped by the fact that it's a translation from the original French. However, I love the premise of this book. Admittedly, you have to put aside the practicalities and logistics, or lack thereof, and just enjoy the story, but boy is it a great story!
There are so many different parts to the story - so many layers. Each one is interesting in its own right so I definitely wasn't bored reading this book. I want to know how it all links up! I cannot wait for the next book - the author leaves it on such a cliffhanger!
