A novel about the war and friendship that had me gripped from the beginning. What I loved which was different about this war novel was that each chapter started with a real life quote or short description of events that were happening at the time the book was writing about. So although the novel was fiction I also learnt some things I never knew about this period of history.
The characters were compelling and became so real based on the descriptions and dialogue created by the author you were always willing for good fortune of the young girls.
