This was so beautifully written. A tale of loss and friendship in desperate times. I really like reading historical fiction and especially anything evolving Worl war 2. Just from the first 5 chapters I have read now I can tell, that it's an emotional but at the same time really powerfull book. I am so exited to read more about the characters and how they evolve in the book.
It is so hard for me to believe, these events happened less than a century ago, especially when I'm only a teenager. The fact that it has excerpts from a real war diary, give the story more value and gravitas. I am possitive this is a book I will remember long after I am done reading it, and I will guess other readers will to.
Also just by looking at the cover, I had no doubt it would be a war novel, with the barbed wire and then the suitcase gave me the feeling someone would try to escape their city/town to get away from it, sounds like I will be right.
