This is quite a dark read, not just because of the murder aspect but a literal darkness. The claustrophobia of blindness is described well and the isolation felt by Naomi is all encompassing. The author effectively sucks you in to Naomi's world very early on.

Less appealing is the description of the murder and the members of the police and forensic team that we have met thus far. They appear to be painted as fairly shambolic and unlikely to be able to solve the murder of Cassie Jennings, let alone the 20 year old disappearence of Hayley.

I'm a bit on the fence with this one, could just need more than a handful of pages to become immersive OR it could carry on in the same vein.
